About Me
Hi there, I'm Lisa - a mom, stepmom, wife, sister, daughter, artist and friend, passionate about documenting the beauty in the everyday. I'm so glad you stopped by!
Some facts about me...I live in Baltimore, Maryland, where I was born and raised, with my husband Andy, and our two daughters, Caroline and Emma. When I'm not working or spending time with my family, you can find me fiddling with my camera, working on house projects, or just lounging with a book. I love music, polaroids, collecting books and records, coffee (my husband and I got married in a coffeeshop!), mid-century design, cold weather, craft beer, antique and second-hand shops, and hanging around the bonfire with friends.
I have always loved art in so many forms (mostly drawing, but seriously, you name it, I've tried it) but have discovered a passion for photography over the last several years. I started out snapping landscapes, cityscapes, and anything else that caught my eye, but it wasn't until the birth of my first daughter that I found a deep love of photographing the everyday moments that make life so rich - the dimples on a baby's hands, steam rising from a mug of hot coffee, a scratchy, well-loved album spinning on the turntable, morning sunlight on the still-unmade bed, the gap-toothed grin of a toddler and the wise, knowing eyes of a grandparent. I am greatly inspired by motherhood and everything that comes with it.
Photos are my love language - they are how I preserve memories for my family, and I would be honored to do the same for yours!
A little bit about my style....
I am completely self-taught when it comes to photography and I still have SO much to learn. My favorite photos are candid, photojournalistic, documentary-style, and minimally edited - I love to capture those spontaneous, raw, sometimes imperfect moments that make you and your family unique. I have nothing against the perfectly styled, smiling family photo for your gallery wall - those are great! But I am most interested in the messy, gritty, silly, everyday stuff....the stuff that our childhood memories are made of. I want to create photos that capture a feeling, a mood, a taste, a memory...photos that will one day transport you back to that precious, fleeting moment in time. After your session, you'll receive a beautiful, curated gallery that is yours to download and share!
